Cooperative Partnerships

To improve the efficiency and reach of the program, TISP/EIC has set up a cooperative partnership with the ASU Fulton Schools of Engineering. They provide student teacher volunteers to our program.

These actions are all intended to ensure the success and long-term sustainability of the “Arizona Science Lab” for grade 4 – 8 students, with the goal of persuading the students to pursue studies and careers in STEM subjects.

ASU Fulton Schools of Engineering

ASL had originally approached ASU Fulton Schools of Engineering to provide a central location for the Lab but they could not physically accommodate the program. However, ASU has been working with the ASL on a number of education initiatives:

ASU Fulton engineering undergraduate students do small scale K-12 internships with the ASL and develop new lessons/activities collaboratively with IEEE engineers and retirees,
ASU Fulton engineering undergraduate students learn how to lead and communicate engineering concepts to children and youth from K-12 sector,
ASU Fulton engineering undergraduate students learn how to communicate and work with professional and retired engineers while working on the ASL program.
